Quest for Destiny 6: The Eyes of Eternity

00:00

ROMANS 8:26-30

26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

The Spirit can control our emotions, for He is there to handle our concerns if only we will yield. The more consistently we live in the Spirit, the more precise we can be at knowing we are headed in the direction of God's perfect destiny for our lives. He's always known what's best for us and wants us spending our lives in this pursuit. He not only foreknew us in a love relationship with Him, but His perfect design for our lives was in His infinite mind before the foundation of the world as well. In addition, it's all or nothing with God and it does not begin when someone makes a decision for Christ. The Scriptures teach that God Almighty already made the decision before the world began and only Israel is the apple of His eye.

ROMANS 8:26

26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Here's another benefit to being a Spirit-indwelt child of God; He helps us control our emotions. Even when we don't know what to "pray for", He can help us deal with our pain, desires, and emotions. Have you ever been at the end of yourself in worry or stress? Is there something you've always desired that you just can't shake? Even if you can't put it all into words, be still and allow your feelings to flow and "the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." What an advantage God has given us if we'll just acknowledge the Spirit's power by surrendering our weaknesses and fears. This is not only the way we receive strength, but the way He removes our burdens. All it takes is spending time alone with Him, being mindful of how you really feel before Him from your heart. In moments like this, His eyes of eternity are seeing your need for mercy and strength.

Do you need help with your weaknesses? The expression "infirmities" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #769 meaning feebleness (of body or mind)... frailty... weakness. When you feel the pain and sorrow because of weaknesses, just close your eyes and know that because of the indwelling Spirit, God is with you; you're never alone. God knows we need help. In fact, Christ said that He knows what we have need of before we ask Him. We don't even have to know what to say, if we'll just turn it over to Him, "the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

There are some "infirmities" for which "we know not what we should pray for as we ought". Obviously, if we cannot even express them, God does not expect us to be able to handle them on our own. We must be willing to turn to the Spirit for help by being still and becoming conscious of His indwelling presence. Prayer allows opportunity for us to step away and deeply reflect from within, which is where our strength is found. We sometimes want to use our human weakness as an excuse to compromise or not trust God. Yet Paul is telling us that it is actually provides us with a tremendous opportunity to commune with God, even when we don't have the words. Never forget, God wants us to be successful in the quest for our destiny, but we must trust Him and live by faith in spite of our infirmities.

ROMANS 8:27

27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

What's in your heart? Whatever it is, God is continually searching us inside. He knows exactly what's in our hearts at all times and where it is leading us. This is another benefit of being indwelt by the Spirit of God. All at once, He can show us what's in our heart, holding it up against His perfect will to help us better align with "the mind of the Spirit". He then "maketh intercession for the saints" or His set apart ones (Israel) based upon the will of God to change our "mind" or attitude to that of the Spirit.

How does God do this? It's simple: HE LIVES INSIDE OF EACH ONE OF HIS PEOPLE. How can He not know what's going on in your life, even in the depths of your heart, when you are part of Him and He is inside of you?! Therefore He intercedes in our lives based on the condition of our hearts. It's when we continue to pursue the wrong things in our hearts that we eventually run into trouble. Or it's when we begin to pursue the right things that we have tremendous peace in our hearts and doors begin to open. All along, God has His eyes set deeply into our hearts and is searching it out. We then begin to see circumstances unfold to contrast or compliment the way our heart is leading us. It's one thing to have someone else intercede on our behalf. But when God intecedes, it is always for our full benefit. It may take time to understand the way He is orchestrating present circumstances, but we can be sure He knows when it's the best time to step in.

We can know God's will for our lives. But even if we do not, "he maketh intercession" to that end "according to the will of God" for "he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit". As he searches our hearts, He knows what we are going thru and completely understands why you are going thru it, even if you don't. What an amazing insight from God's eternal perspective!

Among other things, God searches our hearts for love, truth, and righteousness. These three essential elements represent what our mind is to consider as we live and make our decisions. They control and determine how we treat our brother and how much we look to God. Here are some more verses on the all-important pursuit of righteousness:

LEVITICUS 19:15

15  Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

PSALM 72:1-2

1  Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son. 2  He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.

PROVERBS 15:9

9  The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

Do you want God to love you? Then when He searches your heart make sure He sees you are following after righteousness. Now we get to another of those profound statements of Paul in this chapter:

ROMANS 8:28

28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Just because we only remember when we called on Him, doesn't mean it actually happened first. The Adamic race as a whole began as a thought in God's infinite mind in eternity past. Who are we to try and pretend we somehow chose the Only True God on our own?! He is in control, He has all power or He isn't God. The only reason we "know" anything, especially concerning Him, is because God gave us the capability to do so. No matter what happens, everything is still working to your advantage, especially if you "love God". The sooner we answer His call and the more we love Him, the clearer the direction we'll find in the quest for our destiny.

This is one of the greatest statements in all the Scriptures when it comes to your spiritual outlook, but you must personally believe it for yourself. Paul wasn't saying we should guess or assume this is true, but "we" are to "know that all things work together for good to them that love God". Do you know that God only wants what's best for your life? Then stop worrying and complaining; it's all going to work out. God wants our lives to be simple. All we must do is trust Him.

If you're one of "them that love God" then "all things work together for" your "good". Stop thinking when something doesn't go your way that maybe God is doing something bad to you. It may be for contrast, or it may be for you to turn to Him more. But never allow your carnal mind to convince you that God doesn't want what's best for you; He always does. If you do not "know" this yet, then do whatever you can to get there! Believing that God always wants your best, acknowledges that you know your significance to Him is founded upon your identity as an Israelite.

It's one thing to be an Israelite and not know it. It's quite another to know it and to "love God." The way to know if you truly love God is that you have the assurance which comes from this perspective.Do you "know" this? Are you convinced, in everything that happens in your life, "that all things work together for" your "good"? If so, then you are one of "them who are the called according to his purpose." God wants to help, equip, and abundantly bless those He has called out from the world to represent Him to the remaining lost sheep of our race.

ROMANS 8:29

29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Here's the outline of our destiny from God's perspective. This explains why we're here and to what destiny we are headed. We are here because we were foreknown by God in eternity past. Our destiny, generally speaking, is "to be conformed to the image of his Son". How do we get from being foreknown before the foundation of the world, to being in the image of Christ? The best way is through seeking God's predestinated pathway for our lives- HIS PERFECT WILL. This goes back to what we saw earlier in verse 27- "And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God." WE MUST LOOK THRU HIS ETERNAL EYES FROM WITHIN TO DIRECT US TOWARD HIS PREDESTINATED GOAL FOR OUR LIVES. If we continue to follow our flesh, whether it's thru an external, judeo religious system or not, we will arrive by having to carry ourselves and suffer loss. The Apostle Peter said speaking of Christ, "By whose stripes ye were healed". But how much are you willing to trust in that healing power? This is just one way to determine how closely you are to His perfect pathway on your quest. The healing power is there, but you must personally believe it is for you in order to receive it!

Our perfect destiny is "to be conformed to the image of his Son"! What more could anyone desire than to be like Christ! Therefore, you must assume Christ's mindset and lifestyle, which all culminates in the statement, "Not My will but Thy will be done." YOU MUST BE WILLING TO FOLLOW THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART THAT ONLY GOD CAN PROVIDE, NO MATTER WHAT. Look at how awesome our God is: He will give you the desires of your heart as long as they are what's best for you. What a gracious, loving Heavenly Father! The spiritual mind never wants anything else. This is a portion of being conformed to the image of Christ.

Christ was "the firstborn" from the dead meaning we will also be changed. The purpose in "that he might be the firstborn among many brethren",is that God will have a whole race He created and fully conformed to Christ's image, with glorified bodies just like Christ when He was raised from the dead:

COLOSSIANS 1:18

18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

REVELATION 1:5

5  And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.

The goal is for us to be like Christ and one day, we will be. It is our quest to strive to be more like Him day by day. The word "image" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #1504 which is likeness... representation, resemblance. How could this not pertain to the present life as well? For how could we be representatives unless there is some way that we would stand out? We can only stand out as a representative of Light in the midst of such darkness as is in this temporary world and age in which we're living now. Our people need to see Christ now. They will see Him through those who are awake racially and spiritually even clearer as we see ourselves thru the eyes of eternity! God has big plans for us now if we will only recognize the importance of pursuing our destiny:

ROMANS 8:30

30  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

People today want to brag about how they know God or how much they think they know about Him. ALL THAT MATTERS IS WHETHER OR NOT GOD KNEW YOU. Concerning God, as to the identity of who His people are, it all was settled in His mind before the foundation of the world. In the eyes of eternity regarding each individual, you are either foreknown, predestinated, called, justified, and glorified in His mind, or God never knew you. Our people want to try and squeeze non-whites into the kingdom (Matthew 7:21-23). Yet Yahweh God never foreknew or predestinated any of them from the beginning, therefore He will never call, justify, or glorify them in this life, no matter how many times whites pray with or baptize them.

To be "called" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #2563 which is to bid or to name. To be called by God is to be bidden to a wedding; to give us His Name (Isaiah 43:1). If you are white, you were born wearing the wedding garment and if He has called you, you know your name is "Israel." Only Israel was "justified" by the blood of Christ. To be "justified" is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #1344 to render... innocent. All Israel collectively makes up the pure Bride of Christ, declared innocent thru the blood shed for us by our Husband, Yahweh God in the flesh, Yahshua Christ. We are "glorified" the more we reflect His righteousness, even in this life(For more see "THE WEDDING GARMENT" and "HUSBAND HAD TO DIE").

REFLECTION

This was His plan from the very beginning and it is all being executed perfectly. In His love, before the world was created, our Sovereign God looked thru time and saw restored Israel. Now that we know we are Israelites, we can begin to view and pursue our future destiny thru His eyes of eternity.

How are we conformed to the image of Christ? By walking after the Spirit, mortifying our flesh, and maintaining a confident mind, while embracing our hope in God. We do this in this life. God's love is the greatest power and motivation in the quest for our destiny. In our final study on this, Paul will give a detailed description of what binds us to our Creator and Redeemer, God's multi-fasceted love.
